Puppy-Proof Your Home
Puppies are like little kids around the house; they go everywhere, are very playful and have lots of energy. So well, it easy for them to cause a little chaos in a just a matter of minutes. So if you just brought home a puppy or are planning to do so, it would we good to take some steps to puppy-proof your home. This will keep both the puppies and our sanity safe!
You can start by seeing your house as your puppy would do. What could you bite? Where could you explore? What can I put in my mouth? These are some of the questions you should start asking yourself to get involved in the role you are playing. Many people discover how a different perspective shows us things we didn”t see before.
You should begin by taking out of reach hazardous and toxic pants for your dog. Some of them include lilies, ivy, begonias and azalea.
Next, you should keep electrical cords out of reach. Each years a great number of puppies and dogs die because of electrical accidents. Thoroughly cover all the cables and conceal them. There is a special plastic you can use to cover all the cords and prevent any fatal accident.
Pick up small objects on the floor and low tables. The playful puppies will try to put everything on their mouth - it is a way to learn more about the world surrounding them. Little pieces can choke your puppy.
Two things that many dog owners overlook are trash cans and toilets. In a trash can, your puppy can easily find dozens of small things to put on his mouth and the toilet is a big hazard for drowning. Keep your bathroom door closed at all times or put a fence on the entrance that will keep your puppy away from it.
