Dog Food Aggression
Have you ever found aggression in your dog whenever you try to give him the food or when trying to take it away from him? This is called dog food aggression and it is basically a type of dog aggression that is related to territory. The aggressiveness is shown through growling, showing the teeth and in some cases biting.
Having a dog with food aggression can be dangerous for everybody if it is not treated immediately, and it can develop to form a violent behavior on the dog,
This type of negative behavior can be corrected if we put enough effort and patience. To start, you should set a feeding schedule for your dog. Leaving the food available all day won”t help in making things a little bit better. The dog has to see you giving him the food through the day at specified times.
Next, you need to maintain dominance on the relationship. Animals always establish the dominant element on the “pack” and that person must be you. Doing the above will give you power, as you will be the food provider. Establish you have the power to give and take away the food, according to the dog’’s behavior. So, this way, whenever your dog shows signs of aggression with food, you simply don”t give him the food - or else you will be rewarding him.
Why does dog food aggression appears?
There could be different factors. For instance, your dog may think you only take his food away.
